Abstrakt Distortion (Quest the Unborn Child & Voider-One) are no newcomers to the hip-hop game, they have been secretly raising the Dead in the studio for past 6+ years releasing exclusive tracks here and there to keep the music hungry zombies demanding more. Today marks the official release to their much anticipated EP which has been shelved for nearly 3+ years. Rising from the Dead in 2011 is Abstrakt Distortion Presents…Awakening the Dead EP.
Paramanu Recordings proudly presents this to all the fans of Abstrakt Distorition and Paramanu fans for a amazing price of FREE.
A special day in fact. Today (Oct. 13th 2011) is not only The Awakening of the Dead but also the The Awakening of Quest, as he stepped foot onto this planet 33 years ago today.
With grimey production mixed with zombie movie flick samples and bite your face off lyrics Abstrakt Distortion brings you the perfect ‘candy’ to give the kids on Halloween.
The Zombies have arrived.
Peace to Ghettoblaster Magazine. Paramanu Recordings recieved some major love in their newest issue #29, which is now available at all the major news stands. We received a nice ad on page 63 (See attached Photo) and an incredible review/write up of our newest mixtape Descendants of Decay Vol. 1 on page 64. This is huge for us, and I can’t thank all the people involved enough, being the artists and the fans for the continued support. Makes me proud.
Below is the nice writeup/review that Ghetto Blaster gave Decendants of Decay Vol. 1 in their magazine.
DESCENDANT’S OF DECAY VOL.1
I’m not one to put much weight behind a label as bringing a “sound” that’s singularly voiced through multiple artists but I do give credence if what a label is releasing is refreshingly vibrant. On Descendant’s of Decay Vol.1 you do get a lot of that. I’m trying to get through all the tracks and give examples but it becomes difficult when there’s so much to pick from. This compilation is for Hip Hop heads that yearn for something off the cuff, or just something that doesn’t represent the status quo. From the very beginning you’re started into acknowledging there’s something interesting here. The first few beats of Jes The Universaul’s “Breath of Cosmic Wind” does that. At a minute and a half, Jes has no time to waste with nonsensical words or missed beats. “Here I go” by A.M break ups Feat: V8 just seems fucking weird but it works by being highly addictive with minimal lyrics. I hit that repeat over and over. Beat master Arcsin drops in with “Treble Damages,” a bracing instrumental track with much energy. Honestly, Descendant’s of Decay Vol.1 is completely out there! Whether it’s the track creators like C73 Eternal, Equanimous One, Timmo80, Quest The Unborn Child and Soul Journer or the lyrical genius of lyricists Mud Buddha, Bey Battery and anyone else I’m forgetting. It’s grimey but with enough musical sensibility to keep you coming back for lots more. (Paramanu) By Eddie Ugarte
